Cruisin’ SOMD is a volunteer organization made up of individuals from local car clubs and different backgrounds that come together throughout the year to plan, raise money for veterans and run the Cruisin’ SOMD for Veterans Memorial Weekend Event. Throughout the year monthly meetings are hosted to discuss planning of the cruise and other local events. It is truly a team effort among passionate car owners in an effort to enrich the lives of our veterans through a fun event for our community.
Cruisin’ SOMD takes a unique approach to the traditional car cruise. Our 100+ mile cruise through beautiful Southern Maryland features unique pop-up car shows where we show up, set up shop, play great music and have a good time in a sort of flash-mob style car show that gives everyone a chance to enjoy the day.
All of the proceeds from Cruisin’ SOMD are donated to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Entering their 7th year, Cruisin’ SOMD and their thousands of participants have donated over $80,000+ to local veteran’s charities and projects along with providing a wonderful Memorial Day for the veterans at Charlotte Hall Veterans home.
